A Contoured Lupin Heat Pack to Relieve your Lower Back

A specially designed lupin heat pack to tackle hip pain and back pain utilising the natural power of heat therapy.

Lower back pain can be debilitating, but with the help of a lower back heat pack, relief is within reach.

Heat therapy, particularly when delivered by an Australian Lupin Heat Pack, can significantly help manage and alleviate lower back pain. The penetrating heat works effectively to increase blood flow to the area, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the strained muscles.

This promotes healing and reduces stiffness, enhancing flexibility and overall mobility. The soothing heat from the lower back heat pack also helps to relax tense muscles and alleviate spasms, which are common in lower back issues. The use of heat therapy for lower back pain aids in breaking the pain-spasm cycle, a common occurrence with this type of ailment

Specially Designed Lupin Heat Pack for the Lower Part of your Body

  • Specifically designed for the lower back.
  • Adjustable waist belt allows for ‘hands-free’ use on the back for long periods.
  • Easy to heat in the microwave.
  • Freeze and use as a cold pack.
  • Odour and allergen-free.
  • 100% natural cotton corduroy cover.
  • Handmade in Australia from 100% natural Australian lupins.
  • Chemical and fungicide free.
  • A better heat retainer than traditional wheat bag/heat packs.
  • One simple size fits all.

All natural heat therapy has many therapeutic benefits including:

  • Muscle Relaxation: Heat therapy works wonders in relaxing and loosening tense muscles. The heat promotes blood flow and circulation, which brings more oxygen and nutrients to the targeted area, helping to heal damaged muscle tissue.
  • Pain Relief: Heat therapy can alleviate pain, including intermittent or chronic pain. It can be particularly beneficial for those with arthritis, muscle tension, or chronic back pain.
  • Increased Flexibility: Heat therapy can help increase flexibility and range of motion. When applied, the heat can help stretch the soft tissues, including muscles, connective tissue, and adhesions, leading to improved flexibility.
  • Improved Circulation: Applying heat to an area can stimulate blood flow and circulation. Increased blood flow delivers more oxygen and nutrients to the area, which aids in the healing process.
  • Stress and Tension Reduction: The comforting effect of heat can also help to reduce stress and tension, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being.

100% Australian product: We use Australian grown Lupins and Cotton

Australian lupin is Australia's most widely grown crop and has a dynamic range of uses for human consumption. Using pure natural Australian lupin grain and pure Australian-grown cotton, we can design and create an Australian-made heat pack for therapeutic heat therapy right at home.

Natural lupin grain is perfect for microwaving to heat as a heat pack wheat bag substitute. Rather than using wheat to make wheat packs and wheat bags, we choose to use pure Australian lupin grain as it retains temperatures, both heat and cool, better and for longer.

Natural Australian Lupin Heat packs are the best heat packs for heat therapy. Rather than wheat packs, lupin microwave heat packs retain temperatures the best and last heat longer than traditional wheat packs! The natural Australian lupin heat packs have a greater lifespan and will reheat faster for longer than conventional wheat packs.

Natural healing

Lupins are widely regarded as a “low allergy” alternative to wheat and are more resistant to moisture (to make cleaning easier) and less weight for more comfort.

Therapeutic Pillow & Thera-med has the most comprehensive range of 100% natural lupin heat packs. Our heat packs are handmade in Australia so you can trust the quality from the harvesting of the lupin grain, all the way to the final stitch on the corduroy cover.

100% Australian Natural Lupins - The finest choice for heat packs

Our Natural Lupin Heat Packs with their gentle penetrating heat or cold, go deep into the muscles to help nature with the act of natural healing. By simply warming the heat pack in the microwave or chilling it in the freezer, the natural lupin grains will assist in soothing aches, pains, stress and hot flushes. Service Rating : Prompt delivery and good communication. Easy to deal with.

Product : The lower back wrap and small (free) lupin heat packs are great. I love how the Velcro makes it easy to wrap on for the lower back or I even use it around the upper back on an angle like a shoulder bag. The lupins seems to stay warm for ages. I've been using these heat packs for over 15 years. They're fantastic and versatile.

Service Rating : I have had this type of pillow before and also the heat pad. Both of my old ones have come to the end of their life hence repurchase. The delivery from the company was efficient but unfortunately due to Australia Post's delay the parcel took a fortnight to reach me despite it arriving a day later in my local country regional mail centre after dispatch from the sender. Hence it only arrived yesterday. Everything was fine with contents of parcel.

Product : Great for relieving back pain. Very handy with ties for waist.

Service Rating : Quick delivery and product was as advertised. Would order from them again if needed and price was reasonable for the product.

Product : Product is great and not overly bulky across the back but I am used to having it hotter than is recommended for heating but overall a good product and the shape is perfect.

Questions & Answers

All seed tend to have an odour when heated up. Lupin can have a slight smell of popcorn.
Sponge your lupin bag lightly with luke warm water to remove surface marks, being careful not to saturate product. Hang up to dry as soon as possible. When cover is dry, rub lupin bag briskly between your hands to ensure grains are dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not immerse.
We recommend that you initially just heat for periods of 30 seconds, checking the product each time and flipping it over. Once you have tried this a few times you can put it on for longer periods until you get to your required heat. It is important not to heat for too long in the one position at the start as each microwave has different amounts of power and heating rates. Lupin are a natural product and like any natural product will damage if heated to long.
While wheat is the traditional filler for a heat bag, we have found that lupin is lighter and maintains its heat longer than wheat, thus giving you a longer lasting product. Through our lab testing we have found that our lupin heat bags stay warmer for longer than traditional wheat bags. Our lupin heat packs are also 30% lighter than traditional wheat heat bags which means less pressure on your body.
The length of the product is 1.5m so it can fit well around a belly circumference up to about 140cm.
The lower back wrap is about 1.45m long so should be a good fit for almost everyone
The bag should stay hot for approx 10-15 minutes and warm for another 10-15 minutes I would say but does depend on temperature of room etc.
Best way to heat them is in microwave though can be used in oven if necessary. All our orders are guaranteed delivery and product is reusable as a heat pack and cold pack.
The width of the lupin part of the back hip belt will be 45cm.
They are reasonably soft as they just contain seed.
The yellow legume seeds of lupins, commonly called lupin beans, were popular with the Romans, who spread the plant's cultivation throughout the Roman Empire. Lupin or Lupini Beans are yellow legume seeds of the lupinus genus plant, and were once a common food of the Mediterranean basin and Latin America.
The difference in covers is the charcoal is a regular cotton so may feel a bit warmer on the skin initially as less material between you and the lupin. The blue product are a corduroy so feel a bit softer as the material is thicker.
The back wrap is 1.5 m in length. The heat bag section is 40cm x approximately 10cm at the largest part.
This product can be heated in a flatbed microwave, however, will need to be rotated and flipped over more frequently. This may also cause the product to take longer to be heated the whole way through.
Yes, these hip wraps can be used during pregnancy. The Velcro section is also adjustable.
The average heat time is estimated to be 15-30 minutes. This depends on how hot you heat it and which heat pack you are using as the larger ones will retain the heat for longer.
