What is the best mattress overlay for me?
I think the best mattress topper is the Naturelle latex overlay but in reality they all have pros and of course different price points which also comes into play. The most important thing is that they will only work if your bed is still flat (ie has not dipped out in the middle) and toppers don't really serve to firm up a bed but will make a firm bed more comfortable. The body huggar is a great starting point. It will diffuse pressure and still provide great support. The memory overlays have a unique feel. Most people love it but given you do mould into it i would recommend seeing what a memory foam bed feels like before purchasing. The latex gives a great support and while you do not mould into it in the same way as memory foam it is very comfortable and provides excellent diffusing capabilities.
Hi I have only had my bed for 6 months. It was great for the first 65 mnths , but I am now waking during the night with pain in my lower back & hips. Will a latex topper help? My bed is a Medium individual pocket spring & already has latex in it
The latex overlays are a great product and very much help when a bed is too firm or is not the right feel. If your bed is too soft it might not be of great assistance as it will not really firm up the bed and will go with the shape of the mattress underneath. Please give our staff a call on 03 8585 6685 and they can help with their recommendations for you and discuss what other questions you will have.
Which overlay would you recommend for Bursitis of the hip?
I would recommend a latex overlay or the body huggar overlay. Both have good support and a bit of 'give' in them and are used for many requirements including bursitis of the hips. Though the memory foam topper is a fantastic product i find the memory foam sometimes does not give quite as much comfort for those seeking to address a specific need such as Bursitis on the hips as it will mould to the body and squash down more than the other two products. Please call for further assistance.
What is the difference between latex and memory foam?
The difference between latex and memory foam is that latex is rubber derived naturally from the rubber tree (usually found in tropical or subtropical environments). The rubber is the sap in the tree. Once it is harvested the sap is barrelled in a liquid form and then foamed up and used to create latex. Memory foam is like all foam products derived from oil and then refined to a liquid form and then made into a memory foam. Both are lovely products but have a slightly different feel to them. Both products will eventually soften over time. Neither will harden. Please call if you have any further questions 03 8585 6685.
Where is your latex made, is it pure and does it sleep hot?
Hi Peter, Our latex pillows are approx 94%-95% pure latex and the balance is synthetic latex. The reason for the synthetic latex proportion of the product is to help give it stability (ie longer lastiing), keep the consistency the same (no hard or soft spots). They are a very comfortable product and always well received. 70kgs is about a medium consistency. It is not super soft and fluffy like the talalay latex production method (our is the dunlop method) which we find gives good comfort while maintaining excellent support. The latex is sourced from rubber plantations in Malaysia - harvesting has been done for over 40 years at these locations so no rainforest has been recently removed for production. The pure latex is transported to China where we have found the best and most efficient manufacturing technology is available. Latex production in Australia has been non existent in Australia for over 20 years due to the cost and previously our latex production was in NZ but the price of production was unsustainable. As far as sleeping hot it is a bit of a myth. We get asked the question a lot and generally just recommend layering down on your quilt or blankets if you think it may be an issue (which our feedback says it rarely is). Please call us on 03 8585 6685 and we can help with any further questions that you may have.
Is there a guarantee period? Is there a difference between your latex and a synthetic blend latex?
Basically Syntheitic latex is a synthetic blend that is used to mix with the latex to get a slightly different feel. It can be up to 50% of the product from some suppliers. We have a 6% synthetic latex blend which we find gives the product a better and more consistent feel throughout.
What are the advantages of using a Latex Mattress Topper over a sewn-on mattress pillow top pad?
There are several advantages to opting for a Latex Mattress Topper instead of a sewn-on pillow top pad:Ease of Use: Fitted sheets slide on more easily over a Latex Mattress Topper compared to a sewn-on pillow top pad.Convenience in Moving: The ability to remove the topper when rotating or moving the mattress makes handling the mattress easier and reduces the overall weight to manage.Height Compatibility: A Latex Mattress Topper is typically closer to the height of a standard bed, ensuring a more comfortable sleeping experience. In contrast, a sewn-on pillow top pad can sometimes make the mattress too high for comfortable use.Enhanced Mattress Protection: A Latex Mattress Topper actively protects your mattress, extending its lifespan and preserving its quality over time.
What is the difference between a mattress topper, mattress overlay and mattress pad?
The terms mattress topper, mattress overlay and mattress pad are often thought to mean the same thing. The terms mattress topper or mattress overlay refer to something that enhances the comfort level of the mattress by adding an extra soft layer, pad, or overlay on top of an existing, and possibly too hard mattress. The term mattress pad can refer to both a mattress topper, and to a thinner pad made out of cotton or polyester which is put on top of a mattress to protect it. These mattress pads are also known as mattress protectors.

Should I be sleeping on a soft or hard mattress?
A soft mattress can cause joint and back pain as the body sinks into the mattress making the spine adopt an unnatural position. An unforgiving hard mattress can also create pain as the body lies on top twisting the spine and putting pressure on the hips and shoulders. The mattress should give way a little under the pressure from the shoulders, hips, and pelvis so that the spine is kept in its natural state. The best solution therefore is a mattress that will contour to your shape, allowing your hips and shoulders to sink in comfortably. This combination can easily be obtained using a medium to firm mattress to support your body AND an overlay would be ideal.
Tell me about the natural latex topper.
Natural latex mattress toppers are soft, and are wonderfully comfortable as well as excellent product longevity. Natural latex from the rubber tree is comprised of millions of interconnected cells, and this acts to mould and distribute body pressures. Latex is expensive to collect and produce, and that is why it is priced considerably higher. Our latex comes from the rubber trees of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Our Naturelle latex topper also comes in its own quality zippered cover, which is another reason why it will cost you more. To put it in context, our latex toppers have a 'luxurious' feel to them and if your mattress is too hard or too soft, this topper will help to neutralise that problem.
Can I just buy an overlay or do I have to buy a new mattress?
The answer depends on the condition of your current bed. If your current mattress is basically ok - supportive, no dips, etc - but just too firm, causing pressure points, or just not as luxurious as you would like, than a mattress topper or mattress overlay will make it more comfortable. But if your mattress is old with compressed areas, or is just uncomfortable, then you probably need a new mattress. (Although an overlay could help you put the purchase off for a while). If you decide to buy a new mattress, then stay away from the pillow top styles. Buy a basic medium-range mattress and then add your own Mattress Topper or Mattress overlay as a pillow top. Then after a number of years, you can replace the overlay rather than having to get a new mattress. You will save a fortune by not paying too much initially for an expensive mattress, and you'll sleep a lot better!
Hi, I have a king size mattress, but it's too soft for me. Could you suggest any topper or pad to improve the support ans make it firmer? Thanks.
Hi Li, That is actually a difficult one to fix. The latex or the body hugger overlays may help but if the mattress is dipped out then you might have to replace the mattress. The memory foam definitely will not help with firming up a mattress. Please give us a call on 03 8585 6685 and will see if we can be of more assistance. Warm regards, Brett.
Can we still use an electric blanket on top of the lates mattress pad?
Yes you can use an electric blanket with the latex mattress overlay. As with use of all overlays just have on a low setting and always best to be in the room when blankets are in use.
I want a firm latex topper do you have them?
i would describe our topper as medium in feel and might not suit you if you require something really firm. It is designed to give a premium latex feel to beds that dont meet the expectation of the owner. The product is always very well received and if you would like a location close to you that stocks the product please contact us on 03 8585 6685Warm regards, Brett Parnham(03) 8585 6685
Hi can you supply a latex mattress topper for a Long Single sized bed?If so what is the cost of this? Thanks
Hi Kristy, Yes we can make this for you and it will be the same price as the queen latex overlay (which we will cut down to size). You are also welcome to the off cut piece if you would like. Please call us on 03 8585 6685 if you would like to take up this offer. Warm regards, Brett.

What is the guarantee on your latex mattress topper? What is the cover made of? Is the cover removable for washing?with thanks Sue
Hi Sue,We have a five year warranty on the latex topper. To be honest if treated right (use a protector and flip over from time to time) then the product should last a lot longer. It is always very well received by our custom and most of the staff do sleep on the latex as their choice of overlay. The cover is a removeable and washable zippered cover. It is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. The product is certified Oeko-Tex which is the leading certification for latex products worldwide. Hope all this information is helpful and if you require more information please contact us on 03 8585 6685. Warm regards, Brett Parnham.
What is the cover on your latex made of please
The cover of the latex pillows and mattress are removeable 70% cotton / 30% polyester covers.
Hi,I've recently purchased a firm latex queen-sized mattress (from another retailer). While I like the feeling of being firmly supported with no sagging, I am finding the lack of "give" in the mattress to be causing some discomfort, especially when lying on my side.It seems like getting a soft-ish overlay is the answer. I am considering the latex topper that you have on offer. I note however that it is 5cm thick; I am just wondering if that will be thick enough to contour and shape fully
Hi Matthew, The latex topper is very good but if you are finding your existing latex too firm then adding another layer of latex might not be the best solution. Our latex overlays are a medium denisity and we rarely have any issue with them being to firm. Still i would feel most comfortable having a chat first and making sure that it fits your needs. Can you please give me a call to discuss at a time that is convenient for you. 03 8585 6685. Warm regards Brett Parnham
Softening up a Bed? - HI there, I have a queen sized latex mattress in FIRM. I wish I'd bought MEDIUM! Its too hard for me. I have spent thousands of course, so loathed to get rid of it and buy a new one. Do you have a product that will overlay it and make it like a medium? I am in Melbourne metro area. ThanksAlice
Hi Alice, I received enquiries like your everyday about how to make a bed softer. The good news is it is much easier to soften a bed than it is to make one firmer. All of our overlays will help to accomodate you with this and the latex overlay is probably the best. Please call us on 03 8585 6685 and we can have a chat about where you can view the overlay range. Warm regards Brett Parnham.
Dear Sir/MadamCan I use the Naturelle Latex Mattress Topper or the Memory Foam mattress Topper on the floor instead of mattress on Bed? Best regards
Hi Jeong, The naturelle latex will be a better option on the floor as it does come with a cover and will not squash down as much as the memory foam overlay. Many (including myself) use the naturelle overlays as a mattress for camping, in caravans, vans or on other hardish surfaces. On a carpet it should be fine i would have thought. Best Regards, Brett.
Thickness and comfort rating soft medium firm would be helpful
HI John, The latex overlay is 5cm in thickness which is enough to give a great support and feel but not too thick so as to keep the price affordable. With regards to the feel it will be a medium feel. it will definitely help to soften up a firm mattress but is not to soft so as to give the feeling of sinking into the overlay which would not give correct support and may exacerbate back related problems. Warm regards, Brett.
Hi where can I find your shop, cause I want try and touch a feeling, could you show me where shop in Vic MelThank you
Hi Rowena, We have a number of locations in Melbourne where latex toppers can be viewed. Relaxhouse at 234 Centre Dandenong Rd has everything on display and you can pick up at the time if you so choose. Warm regards, Brett Parnham. 03 8585 6685.
what is the difference between latex and monody foam. Thankyou
Main difference is that latex foam is quite springy and supportive while the memory foam will mould around the shape of your body and envelope you in feel. Both very good but different feels.
Hi, just wondering what is the density of your latex mattress topper, and is it made from Talalay latex? Thanks.
Hi Nadia, Our overlay is made using the Dunlop process. We find this to be a better all round feel and support. The Tallaly feels wonderful and light but we feel is a little too soft and prefer the dunlop style of production. Our overlays are always very well received and most of the staff here choose the latex over the memory foam overlay from a comfort perspective. Please feel free to give us a call on 03 8585 6685 and we can discuss further should you have any more questions. Warm regards, Brett Parnham. 03 8585 6685.
Would a mattress topper correct an older mattress that has sagged in areas around the lower back, hip area? What would be the cost for a double mattress topper? Thanks
Unfortunately if the mattress has sagged i don't think the overlay will be able to save your mattress. You will need to get something that is new and flat. You do not have to spend a lot but get a medium or firm bed (do not get the pillow top). You can then use any overly over the top to soften to your requirements. Please call if we can be of further assistance. 03 8585 6685.Warm regards, Brett Parnham.
Can you please tell me what the cover is made of and whether it's removable and machine washable?
The cover is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. It is fully removeable and very comfortable. Machine washable too. Please call if we can be of further assistance.
Just wondering why your Naturelle Latex Mattress Topper is more expensive by $34 than another company I am looking at? Their dimensions are Queen 2030mm x 1520mm with same density. I would rather buy from you because of the details you have on your website explaining the produc
Thanks for your enquiry about the latex topper. I really can't comment on the specifics of other products on the market but normally the cheaper the latex topper the more likely it is to have less pure latex and more filling agent (synthetic latex, clay or other material). Our latex overlays and pillows contain approximately 94-5% pure latex and the balance being synthetic latex which gives the overlay a consistent feel (stops lumpiness), gives product a better life span and a more comfortable feel.
I don't have a mattress at the moment, will it give me enough support if I just get your latex topper to use as mattress? Which is your firmest topper?
People do use the naturelle overlay on its own for short term situations ie spare bed on carpet or for camping, caravaning etc but i would say you should use some sort of mattress in conjunction with the topper when using over the longer term. Please call if we can be of further assistance. (03) 8585 6685.
Hi There,I recently brought a new plush mattress but it;s not so plush..I've added 2 foam toppers to soften it but it's still hard..are your toppers soft..Kind Regards
Our foam toppers will make a firm mattress feel softer. You will sink into memory foam so avoid the memory foam if you sleep warm to hot. The latex topper is our most "plush", you will lie on it not in it.Please feel free to call us if you have further questions. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
I am looking for a extra firm /super firm natural latex mattress topper? is it available in your product range?
Yes, our latex topper is 5 cms thick and a lovely luxe density. It is not super firm, more a pleasant weight and comfort. Kind regards, Anmaree
Hi what will be the price for 190x188 Latex Mattress Pad ?
Hi Sergey,Our King size topper is 200 x 180 cms and is $495.00Kind regards, Anmaree
Does the Latex Mattress Topper some with a 'Trial Period', as some do> Thankyou.
Hi Valerie, There is no trial period due to health regulations. They are extremely popular, perhaps read the reviews and FAQs. Welcome to call us . Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
In which Country is your natural latex topper made, please.
Hi Valerie, Our latex is sourced from Malaysia. Kind regards, Anmaree, 03 8585 6685
What is the firmest of this latex mattress topper
Hello, The Latex topper is not firm, it is a comfortable "cushiony" feel. Please call us if you have any further questions. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
My mattress is too soft, do you have a firm topper?
Hi, The Body Huggar topper may be an option. Please call if you have any further queries. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
What is the cover of the natural latex toppers made of?
Hello, the cover is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
Whats your firmest mattress topper?
Hi Jasmyn, this is so subjective. The memory foam and latex are heavier and more dense. The Body Huggar is lighter in weight and "springier" to the touch. You will sink into memory foam whilst you "lie on" the other two. Most welcome to call us if you have further queries. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
Hi there, is it possible to get a natural latex mattress pad in a custom size? I'd like to get one to cover half a king size bed (that'd make it 200x90cm) and the king single/single sizes don't quite match that.Look forward to hearing from you.RegardsRex Vines
Hi Rex, we could cut down a king single. If you wish to proceed, please call our office to place your order. Kind regards, Anmaree 03 8585 6685
Are your latex toppers fre from formaldehyde, bpa and other harmful chemicals to asthma sufferers?
Hi Georgie, there is no formaldehyde, bpa or harmful chemicals in our latex toppers. They are hypoallergenic. We have had no negative feedback from asthma sufferers. Most welcome to call us if you have any further queries
I bought a body hugger egg foam topper in a Q from your company years ago. Whilst I\'ve found it to be quite comfortable, I\'ve not had any relief from hip bursitis pain and pressure. My hips are so sore and numbness has started to happen. I also have 3 herniated discs that need a supportive mattress. I don\'t seem to have any lower back pain with the hugger. As well as Sciatica pain. Would the Latex topper be suitable for me? I\'m in my 50s and really need relief from my ongoing pain.
We tend to view the latex range as a step up from the Body Huggar range in terms of support as it is quite a dense product but on the whole is found very comfortable by most of our users. I think it would well be worth a shot as the body huggar may have lost a little resilliance over the years. Happy to help with more questions on 03 8585 6685 at anytime.
Are your toppers suitable to be used with an adjustable bed (the head & foot of the bed can be inclined)?
Yes, all toppers are suitable to be used with an adjustable bed. Please also note that if the topper is going to be kept in an upright position for a long period of time this may increase the wear of the foam causing it to prematurely break down.
Where is the latex from? Will it be softer than my Dunlopillo mattress (20 years old)?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a direct comparison to your existing mattress. Our latex is imported from Malaysia and is a medium density in firmness. It is one of our most popular mattress toppers as it adds support as well as comfort to your mattress.
Can you use an electric blanket on the topper?
Yes, this product can be used with an electric blanket. As per the care instructions, the blanket must be used on low heat and under supervision only.
Will it work on an electrically- adjustable bed?
Yes, the product can be used on an electric adjustable bed. Please note that if frequently changed from a flat to an upright position, the topper may prematurely begin to tear at the angled point.
Does the cover zip off for washing?
Yes, this cover can be removed for washing. Please note that the foam may prematurely flake if the cover is removed frequently. We would suggest an additional mattress protector in this case.
Is there a recommended weight limit for using the mattress topper?
This product doesn't have a wight limit. However will condense more under a higher weight.
How heavy would a double topper be? I have an adjustable bed is it suitable for it? I am a hot sleeper. Would this topper be suitable for me? Does the topper have a cover? How does it stay in place on the mattress?
The approximate weight of the double topper is 12 kilos. We have had some customers have success using this topper on an electric bed however, the constant bending of this product can cause premature splitting of the foam. Latex products are also known to absorb heat more than most other foams as they are a denser foam type. The product itself has a green leaf cover and typically just sits on top of your mattress under the fitted sheet. The fitted sheet is what keeps it in place.
What are the latex mattress topper covers made of?
As stated on the website, the cover is 70% cotton and 30 % polyester blend.
I am wondering how soft your latex mattress topper is? I know that some companies have firm and plush. Where would yours sit on the firm, medium to soft continuum?
Our Latex Foam is a medium to firm density.
Can I use an electric blanket with this mattress topper?
Hi Bev, Yes you can use blanket with memory overlay and just follow your electric blanket instructions regarding heating temp and how to use. Warm regards, Brett Parnham03 8585 6685
hi, I am looking at your products,i have a tumor in my hip area .My question is which topper would help me the most.
It is hard to know to be honest. Are you able to give us a call on 03 8585 6685 and we can have a chat about what your mattress is currently like - ie hard or soft and also how you are sleeping and where you feel the pain fo the tumor most? Then we can gage if any of our products are going to be suitable. Warm regards, Brett 03 8585 6685
Hi, I am looking at the latex and memory foam mattress toppers. Which would be more suitable for a 50kg lady recovering from pelvic surgery and is limited to sleeping on her back?
I think the latex is the best. It is comfortable yet supportive and should be perfectly fine for you and sleeping on your back. The memory foam is also good but can feel quite firm when the temperature is cooler. Happy to discuss further with you at any time. Warm regards, Brett 03 8585 6685
how long would shipping take to fairlight 2094, sydeny, nsw
Sorry about delay. We could send tommorrow for you and would be a good chance of being on Thursday given Anzac day on Wednesday. Warm regards, BRett Parnham03 8585 6685
I have a new open-cell foam mattress; it still feels too firm and a tad warm. I need a much softer bed for back and shoulder problems. Would the latex or the egg-carton topper suit? Which is softer? Which is cooler?
Both should be great for your requirements but out of the two I think you would find the body hugger to be very suitable to your requirements. The latex might be a tad warm for you because it is a denser material and the egg shell is probably a dash softer also. HAppy to chat on 03 8585 6685 if you have further questions we can help with. Warm Regards, Brett.

Is your latex mattress topper 100% natural latex or has it got a mixture of synthetic latex?
Hi Maria,Our latex toppers are 93% natural latex and 7% synthetic latex. The small percentage of synthetic latex keeps the consistency even in the topper.Kind Regards,Cristina
Can you still use an electric blanket
Yes it is fine to use an electric blanket so long as you keep it on a reasonable heat. Too hot and it may cause damage to teh rubber for best for a lower heat. Warm regards, Brett.
We recently purchased a Visco Elastic Pressure Reduction Medium memory foam mattress for a medical bed. We are finding it gives my husband a sore upper to middle back.Possibly because it is too soft not sure. Will your latex topper help do you think ?RegardsVeronica

Can an electric blanket be used with the latex toppers?
Hi,Thank you for your enquiry. It is most certainly safe to use an electric blanket with our latex toppers.Warm Regards,Cristina
Hi, could you pls explain how the latex different from the memory foam? Thank you
Hello, Put simply the latex is made of rubber from the rubber tree. it is very comfortable and very supportive and has a little bit of spring to it. The memory foam is produced from polyol oil and has a very soft feel to it whereby it moulds around the shpae of your body. They are both quite different feels. Happy to chat on 03 8585 6685 if you have some further questions. Warm regards, Brett. 03 8585 6685
I recently purchased a (very expensive) plush mattress which has proved to be far too soft. I had lower back surgery in December and find it very difficult to roll over on this mattress. Would a latex topper be of use
Hi Alex, If it is just the surface softness that is an issue then the latex might be a good help but if the whole mattress is sagging then it can be difficult to fix as whatever you put on top will just sag down into it. I think perhaps if that is the case then the body huggar will be the most effectual option as it is a higher density foam. Warm regards, BRett. 03 8585 6685

Is Naturella latex mattresss toppers hot to sleep on , as I am a very hot sleeper
Hi Lynette, I would probably steer clear of the latex overlay if you sleep hot. Please give us a call and i can run you through what may or may not work for you depending on your needs. Warm regards, Brett Parnham03 8585 6685
Mu daughter's mattress at uni is new but she can feel the springs. Which would be a better topper to provide comfort: latex or memory foam please?
I would definitely suggest the latex overlay. It will stop any feeling going through the product better than the memory foam and also be very comfortable for her. Warm regards, Brett. 03 8585 6685
Hello, do you provide a warranty for your latex mattress topper? Kind regards, Sarah Love.
Hi Sarah, We don't have a specific warranty but expectation is the latex overlay should comofortably last 5+ years while maintainging good support and comfort. Over a longer period of time it will gradually soften. Biggest cause of degradation tends to be excessive sweatng or exposure to moisture so we tend to recommend a mattress protector be used with all of our overlays. Happy to help with any other questions and all our products are available through NDIS and if you are after bulk purchases for your facilties please register here for wholesale pricing. https://www.the-pillow.com.au/hp/user/registrationWarm regards, Brett. 03 8585 6685Warm regards, Brett.
Can I use an electric blanket with your latex mattress topper
Yes you can use electric blanket but always use the blanket on a low heat and always be in the room when blanket is on which should be the case for whenever an electric blanket is being used. Warm regards, Brett (03) 8585 6685
You have not sent the item I purchased I did not purchase a relaxhouse topper

Hello. I have one of your therapeutic pillows. I have taken out the separate piece of latex that came with the pillow and am lying on that so that it is under my shoulders. I am now interested in buying a full-length Naturelle latex mattress topper (premium natural latex mattress pad) but would like to know if this is the same thickness as the extra pillow piece.
Hi Carole, The mattress topper is 5 cms high and the pillow layer is 2 cms high.Regards Anmaree
