Supporting the Future of Chiropractic Care Through Education
The future of healthcare depends on the knowledge, skills and dedication of the next generation of practitioners. At Therapeutic Pillow Australia, we have always believed that supporting health professionals extends beyond the products we manufacture. It also means investing in education, professional development and the people who will shape the future of patient care.
That is why we are proud to announce a new five year partnership with Macquarie University, one of Australia’s leading institutions for chiropractic education. Beginning with the 2027 academic year, this partnership will support chiropractic students through academic recognition, industry engagement and opportunities to build stronger connections between education and professional practice.

A Shared Commitment to Future Health Professionals
For more than 50 years, Therapeutic Pillow Australia has worked closely with chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, massage therapists and other health professionals throughout Australia. Many of the pillows and body support cushions we manufacture have been developed in consultation with practitioners who understand the important role that posture, comfort and support can play in helping people improve their quality of life.
This partnership is a natural extension of that long standing relationship with the healthcare community.
Recognising Academic Excellence in Chiropractic Education
As part of the partnership, Therapeutic Pillow Australia will sponsor two annual academic excellence awards within Macquarie University’s Chiropractic Department.
The Dux Academic Excellence Award will be presented to the highest achieving student in Year 1 of the Bachelor of Chiropractic Science degree
The Academic Excellence in CHIR8515 Interprofessional Management Award will be presented within the Master of Chiropractic programme.
The undergraduate award is particularly significant as it recognises the Dux of the degree and celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership and academic achievement early in their professional journey.

Building the Next Generation of Chiropractors
Macquarie University’s Bachelor of Chiropractic Science degree provides students with a strong foundation in the health sciences. Throughout their studies, students develop an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics and musculoskeletal health.
They learn how the body functions, how movement influences wellbeing and how evidence based healthcare can support patients experiencing a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Students also develop practical skills in patient assessment, communication and clinical reasoning, all of which are essential for becoming effective healthcare practitioners. These foundational years help prepare graduates for further clinical education and professional practice.
Preparing Students for Collaborative Healthcare
The CHIR8515 Interprofessional Management unit within the Master of Chiropractic programme focuses on a different but equally important aspect of healthcare. The subject helps students understand how healthcare professionals work collaboratively within multidisciplinary environments.
It explores leadership, communication, professional relationships, healthcare systems and the management of patient-centred care.
As healthcare continues to evolve, practitioners are increasingly working alongside professionals from multiple disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for patients. The ability to collaborate effectively, understand different healthcare perspectives and contribute to coordinated care is becoming an essential skill for modern practitioners.
The Connection Between Chiropractic Care, Sleep and Postural Support
These areas of study closely align with the values that have guided Therapeutic Pillow Australia for decades. Healthcare is most effective when practitioners combine clinical expertise with practical solutions that support their patients both inside and outside the consulting room.
Many chiropractors regularly recommend products that support posture, comfort and healthy sleeping habits as part of broader patient management strategies. Products such as supportive pillows, lumbar supports and body support cushions can help patients maintain more comfortable positions during rest, recovery and everyday activities.
Understanding the relationship between musculoskeletal health, posture and quality sleep is an important component of many healthcare conversations.
By supporting students during their education, we hope to contribute to a stronger connection between clinical knowledge, patient education and practical wellbeing solutions.
Beyond Scholarships: Creating Meaningful Industry Connections
The Chiropractic Department at Macquarie University will oversee the annual review and selection process for award recipients. Successful students will be formally recognised at the university’s annual Prize Night, where Therapeutic Pillow Australia will have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements alongside faculty members, peers and industry representatives.

We are particularly excited about the opportunity to meet future practitioners, learn about their career aspirations and support their transition from university into professional practice.
Beyond the academic awards, both organisations are also exploring broader partnership opportunities, including open days, career events and student engagement initiatives designed to strengthen industry connections and support professional development.
Investing in the Future of Patient Care
At Therapeutic Pillow Australia, we believe the future of healthcare is built through education, collaboration and a commitment to lifelong learning. By recognising and encouraging academic excellence, we hope to play a small role in supporting the practitioners who will go on to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their patients.
We look forward to working alongside Macquarie University over the coming years, celebrating student achievement and helping strengthen the connection between education and industry. Together, we can support the next generation of chiropractic professionals as they develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to build rewarding careers and contribute positively to the health and wellbeing of their communities.
